It is called [DEEP]Search, Laurent Garnier‘s new radioshow, broadcasted exclusively every first Saturday of the month from 10pm to half past midnight by FIP, French public radio of the Radio France group. FIP is characterised by its remarkable eclecticism: it broadcasts jazz, rock, French chanson, world music, hip hop, blues, electronic and classical music. 60 minutes of music per hour, combined with short cultural news without commercial breaks.

In a saturated music landscape where more than 120,000 new titles appear on streaming platforms every day, music is often categorised, formatted and directed by algorithms that limit diversity and discovery.  

For Laurent Garnier, as for FIP, “it is essential to go beyond these imposed boundaries and explore music without preconceived ideas. As music lovers and sound messengers, our mission is to go beyond the limits, to seek out rare gems and bring to light tracks that you won’t hear anywhere else”.

For FIP, this is the first radioshow with a resident DJ. A first that could not have a better protagonist than Laurent Garnier.
