Founded in 2000 by Above & Beyond, Anjunabeats has steadily grown to become one of the most recognisable and identifiable independent dance music labels ever, joined by the Anjunadeep and Anjunachill labels. In these 25 years, it has released albums by artists such as Ben Böhmer, Lane 8, Tinlicker, Eli & Fur, Mat Zo, Yotto, Gabriel & Dresden and Qrion, and received a gold disc in the US for Above & Beyond’s “Flow State” LP, a pioneering ambient and chill album that pointed the way for Anjunachill.
‘We have always believed that the best music is timeless music – says Above & Beyond say – Ambient music has been an integral part of Anjuna and Above & Beyond since the beginning, starting with our first album ‘Tri-State’. Including ambient tracks in our albums has always seemed natural to us. Music can be comforting and therapeutic, especially when you live in today’s hectic world. Looking back 25 years ago, it is amazing to see how many timeless pieces have emerged from our labels and how they still have that same feeling’”.
