October 2024, Tuesday 22nd: Cape Town’s acclaimed multidisciplinary artist Angel-Ho unveils her debut album and new video under the name Ange Madame, following her impressive journey that includes three solo albums on Kode9’s Hyperdub, collaborations with notable artists like Gaika, Rabit, and Arca, and co-founding the NON Worldwide collective with Chino Amobi and Nkisi, which champions the African diaspora.
Ange Madame symbolizes the evolution of Angel-Ho’s trans-feminine identity, utilizing gender and sexuality to create a distinctive reality by conforming to, blending, or rejecting societal norms. Through her art and performances, she fosters liberation, exploring themes of fame, personal freedom, and playful identity expressions, all while challenging oppression and celebrating empowerment.
