July 2024, Friday 26th: following the announcement of his tracklist, which sent shockwaves through the music industry, Diamante Blackmon – known globally as GORDO – has released his groundbreaking debut album, ‘DIAMANTE’ via Ultra Records. The tracklist initially featured one blurred-out track, sparking much speculation. Today, GORDO officially reveals that the mystery track is a surprise collaboration with his long-time friend Drake, titled ‘Healing’, the second collaboration with Drake featured on the album.
First and foremost, the presence of Drake stands out, present on the tracks “Sideways” and “Healing”. In addition to his contribution, Larry June in “Lake Como’, T-Pain in ‘Target’, the alas departed Young Dolph in “Kill For This Shit’, as well as collaborations with prestigious djs and producers such as &ME and Rampa (Keinemusik) and with global stars such as Maluma: more than an album, an authentic all-star team, committed to an album with a dance matrix that borders on hip hop, latin and (afro)house.
“There is nothing I would change in this album for which it took four years – GORDO explains – I am sure I know it is perfect: an album I dedicate to my grandmother, my family, my friends and loved ones. I think it is the best music I have ever created and I really hope people will like it’”.
“DIAMANTE” is a definite breakthrough for the Guatemalan dj and producer, who has been a major player in the global electronic scene for years, with Grammy Award nominations, sets at festivals such as Coachella and Tomorrowland and much more.
