Sounds of Africa festival gears up for its next chapter against the vibrant backdrop of Marrakesh’s Movenpick Mansour Eddahbi hotel on May 18th, 2024. After an impressive debut that drew over 800 enthusiasts to Marrakesh’s Palais Anthéa, this upcoming edition of Sounds of Africa promises to be a cultural marvel, offering an evening brimming with creativity and talent. From the infectious rhythms of Monkey Safari to the mesmerizing melodies of Maxi Meraki, “Sounds of Africa” boasts a varied lineup of performers, including Moroccan luminary Amina Benbouchta and Malagasy virtuoso Joël Andrianomearisoa.

Featuring rising Moroccan sensation Yassine Mandar and captivating displays by “We The Stage,” this event aims to celebrate artists and musicians from around the world, spotlighting both international luminaries and local talents from Morocco.
Additionally, festivities kick off with an exclusive sunset soiree on May 17th, welcoming 300 VIP guests to indulge in an evening of luxury and allure, featuring performances by Saudade, Chambord, and the incomparable Laolu.


According to the press release, the 2024 edition of Sounds of Africa aims to host over 1000 festival-goers, solidifying its status as a cornerstone in promoting Moroccan culture.
Looking back on last year’s successful debut, which saw 840 attendees enraptured in a whirlwind of musical delight, this year’s installment aims to double the excitement with a lineup of 20 esteemed artists across two nights and venues, promising an immersive experience like no other. As anticipation mounts and excitement permeates the atmosphere, enthusiasts of this grand musical spectacle eagerly await the second edition of “Sounds of Africa,” poised to captivate audiences with its vibrant tapestry of sound and culture.

The inaugural edition of “Sounds of Africa” in 2023, the festival’s maiden voyage, showcased a stellar lineup of some of the most gifted artists hailing from Morocco, South Africa, and the Arab world. Among the luminaries who graced the stage were Mr ID, whose hypnotic beats entranced the audience, the soulful melodies of Kawtar Sadik, the infectious energy of Pippi Ciez, the electrifying tunes of Raoul K, and the captivating sounds of THEMBA, each contributing to an unforgettable night of musical exploration and cultural exchange. Their performances resonated with the diverse audience, transcending borders and uniting music lovers from across the globe in celebration of Africa’s rich and vibrant musical heritage.
